ABOUT ME
Riley Bauling has 16 years of experience leading some of the best schools in the country as a principal and principal manager. Most recently, Bauling served as a regional superintendent at Achievement First, overseeing middle schools in Connecticut and New York.
During his 12-year tenure at Achievement First, he has led a school to win a National Blue Ribbon Award, oversaw the two most significant school turnarounds in the organization’s history, has dropped suspension rates at the schools he’s overseen by 41%, and improved proficiency in math and ELA at the schools he manages by 48% and 32%, respectively.
Bauling is the son of a veteran teacher of 31 years, which is where he gets his belief of what’s possible when schools have great teachers. He grew up in Albuquerque, N.M., graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico, holds a master’s of education with distinction from Hunter College, and a master’s of public administration with a specialization and honors in finance from New York University. He is a proud alumnus of Teach for America, Education Pioneers and Relay’s Leverage Leadership Institute, a school leader fellowship program for leaders with top 10% results in their districts.
Over the past year, Bauling has run his own consulting firm, coaching chief talent officers, chief schools officers, superintendents, principal managers, and principals at some of the top-performing districts and charter networks in New York City, Charlotte, Atlanta, Milwaukee and Connecticut.
